Deadpool is a comic book character from the Marvel universe known for his fourth-wall breaking and sense of humor. Deadpool himself is a tragic figure. A former Special Forces officer, he receives accelerated healing powers after participating in an experiment after his cancer diagnosis. From then on, he sets out to find the man who almost destroyed his life. The character Deadpool thrives primarily on his special abilities and, above all, his unstable personality disorder. Nevertheless, this hero never fails to make readers and viewers laugh.

In February 2016, Deadpool, a comic book adaptation, was released in German cinemas. Ryan Reynolds, Morena Baccarin, Gina Carano, JT Miller, and Ed Skrein star in the film. Tim Miller directed the film.

- When Deadpool was being developed, his similarities to DC's Deathstroke were unmistakable. They jokingly called Deadpool Wade Wilson in real life. Deathstroke's name is Slade Wilson.
- Deadpool was conceived as a villain in the comic New Mutants #98.
- Deadpool is a proud Canadian.
- Wade Wilson's childhood hero was Captain America. Because of this, and because both were government experiments, Captain America treats Deadpool with respect. Incidentally, he's the only Marvel character to do so.
