The revival of the 1963 BBC series "Doctor Who" has been brilliantly executed, fascinating in every season (over 33 in total!) and holds the record for the longest-running science fiction series in the world.
What is Doctor Who actually about? Well, the series is about a mysterious alien who is simply called "The Doctor." With his spaceship TARDIS (Time and Relative Dimension in Space), the Doctor travels through space and time. The catch: from the outside, the TARDIS looks like a 1960s British police box. The Doctor himself is a Time Lord from the planet Gallifrey and is over 900 years old. The reason he doesn't look it is mainly because a Time Lord is able to regenerate. He is also able to take on other forms. In the new edition of the series, the Doctor has so far been played by Christopher Eccleston, David Tennant, Matt Smith, Peter Capaldi, and Jodie Whittaker. In total, there have been 13 Doctors.
