The revival of the 1963 BBC series "Doctor Who" is brilliantly executed, captivates audiences in every season (over 33 in total!), and holds the record for the longest-running science fiction series in the world.
What is Doctor Who actually about? Well, the series is about a mysterious alien known simply as "The Doctor." The Doctor flies through space and time in his spaceship, the TARDIS (Time and Relative Dimension in Space). The highlight: From the outside, the TARDIS looks like an English emergency telephone box from the 1960s. The Doctor himself is a Time Lord from the planet Gallifrey and is already over 900 years old. The fact that you wouldn't know this is mainly because a Time Lord is capable of regenerating. He is also capable of assuming other forms. In the reboot of the series, the Doctor has been played by Christopher Eccleston, David Tennant, Matt Smith, Peter Capaldi, and Jodie Whittaker. There have been 13 Doctors in total.
