Fan articles and posters for Marvel's Black Panther
"The Black Panther has been the protector of Wakanda for many generations. A mask passed from warrior to warrior. And now that your friend has murdered my father, I also wear the robes of kingship. So I ask you, as a warrior and as a king: How long do you think you can protect your friend from me?" - T'Challa
T'Challa is probably better known to you as Black Panther . After the murder of his father T'Chaka, T'Challa inherits the kingship of Wakanda, a fictional, highly developed African state. Like Batman from DC Comics, Black Panther has no superpowers, but he has mastered a variety of learned fighting techniques. He also possesses panther-like agility and enhances his abilities with special strength-enhancing herbs. Black Panther is a member of the Avengers and first appears in the comic book Fantastic Four #52 (July 1966). Like most of our favorite heroes in the Marvel Universe, he was created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby. Black Panther is the first African superhero in mainstream American comics.
